it's learning is one of Europe's leading providers of Virtual Learning Environments. The company is solely dedicated to the continuous development and distribution of the "it's learning" Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) with ePortfolio. More than half a million active users regard the platform as the markets most user friendly and intuitive VLE, specifically designed for schools and universities. |
ePortfolio and it’s learning:
Portfolio assessment: The new version of it's learning emphasises improved functionality in the use of ePortfolio
Assessment: ePortfolio assessment is a type of assessment that has emerged as an alternative to the more traditional assessment of pupils and students. As a result, new work and learning modes have been created based on the new assessment form. "ePortfolio assessment is a structure or framework that can tie the various elements in the teaching together, while at the same time integrating the guidance and assessment in the whole". Ideally, Portfolio assessment shall emphasise the following:
- the pupil's or student's role in the assessment of his own work and the criteria for the assessment.
- assessment tied to learning objectives
- that the content in the portfolio(s) shall reflect progress, work input and performance in a defined period of time, and
- a stronger connection between teaching, learning and assessment

MGL - A BECTA Accredited ICT Service Supplier |
 |
| As you are no doubt aware, students undertaking DiDA qualifications have to have an ePortfolio up to 15MB in size, which can only be accessed by the pupils in school hours, is secure, password protected, can be accessed by teachers for moderation purposes at any time, and can also be accessed by exam moderators when required. |
Most schools do not currently have the infrastructure or the connection speed to be able to handle this kind of load and data, and have it available from anywhere, 24 hours a day.
MGL can take that pain away by providing you with everything you need to deliver ePortfolios for your students. We provide 15Mb of web space accessible during school hours only via ftp, secure directory access for teachers and examiners from anywhere for moderation purposes, and the reassurance of a fully backed up data centre with the resilience of an educational ISP Service.
